Invitation

PhotoDear Colleagues,

I would like to invite you to the 7th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network (ICN), which is to be held for the first time in Japan, from April 14-16, 2008 in Kyoto.

The ICN Annual Conference is certainly one of the most important international meetings in the area of competition law and policy. It is great pleasure for us to host this renowned conference. The ICN Annual Conference will be held at the Kyoto International Conference Center, located in the northern part of Kyoto City. We hope that we will have productive discussion on competition law and policy in this conference and that international cooperation in this area will be enhanced accordingly.

We have chosen Kyoto as the conference venue. Located at the center of Honshu Island, Kyoto is rich in historical sites, as the city is the former capital of Japan and was home to the Imperial Court for over 1,000 years. Moreover, the compactness of Kyoto makes it enjoyable to stroll through the city during your free time.

The registration begins with online registration at this website from this November. We invite your agency to register names and other information of participants from your agency through the website at your earliest occasion, by the end of January at the latest. Upon your registration, the JFTC will dispatch individual invitations by e-mail. We would also like to remind you that non-governmental advisors have to be nominated by your agency in order for them to attend this conference. Hotel accommodation can be booked through the website after your registration mentioned above.

Every year the ICN conference has achieved brilliant success and has become one of the most important conferences in this field. We will do our utmost to make the next conference another success.

In closing, I would like to reiterate our gratitude for your continued support of this conference, and I very much look forward to welcoming you to Kyoto, Japan.

Sincerely

Kazuhiko Takeshima
Chairman
